Let´s talk about THEE WERQ´N BITCHES or Joel Dickinson a while.

Biography:

Joel Dickinson has officially produced for the biggest names in the music industry, including Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Cher, Junior Vasquez, Nile Rodgers, The Village People, Tony Moran, Jessica Sutta, Taylor Dayne, C+C Music Factory, Doris Day, Rozalla, and many more. He has worked on a number of high-charting singles on the Billboard Club Charts, including being featured in the remix package for Whitney Houston - "Million Dollar Bill," which reached the #1 spot!

​Thee Werq’n B!tches is the moniker of solo producer/musician Joel Dickinson. He has also produced solo under the names ‘night mother and Frisky Army. Joel is also a part of the Audio Assembly remix team and has collaborated with Junior Vasquez, Jerome Farley, John Michael, and Billy Waters.

​Many of Joel's remixes and productions have attained high positions on the Billboard Club Chart, including Tony Moran ft. Deborah Cooper - "Heartbeat" (#4), Jessica Sutta ft. Kemal - "Again" (#11), Eddie X ft. Niki Haris - "This Time Baby" (#5), C+C Music Factory ft. Scarlett Santana - "Rain" (#8), Whitney Houston - "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" (#17), and Whitney Houston - "Million Dollar Bill" (#1).

​Joel began creating “bedroom bootleg” remixes and edits in 1998 after landing his first DJ residency at Trikkx in St. Paul, MN. In addition to Trikkx, Joel has also had residencies at The Saloon (Minneapolis), Rumours/Innuendo (St. Paul), and special gigs at events and clubs throughout the Midwest. In 2011, Joel retired from DJing, although he has played the rare special event and pop-up appearance since.  ​

In 2000, Joel established Thee Werq’n B!tches as a remix outfit specializing in club/circuit anthems with a very strong gay sensibility. Some of the early remixes that have become camp classics are Dolly Parton – “9 To 5,” Liza Minnelli – “Cabaret,” Bette Davis – “I’ve Written A Letter To Daddy (from “Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?”),” and Olivia Newton-John – “Xanadu.”

​In 2006, Joel created the signature song for Thee Werq’n B!tches, an original track with samples from the film, “Mommie Dearest.” Thee Werq’n B!tches ft. Faye Dunaway – “No Wire Hangers! (Thee Hollywood Royalty Mix)” and its’ music video were honored by VH1’s Best Week Ever in 2008, earning the title of “The Gayest Thing On The Internet.”
