EMMON vs AGENT SIDE GRINDER

Last out tonight here on Muzik Mag Sweden is a post about Swedens electroqueen Emmon.

Pressrelease:

Following the two previously released remixes of "Speak to Me" (by SIIE and The Foreign Resort), Sweden’s electro/EBM queen EMMON continues the journey toward the upcoming remix album *ICONMIXED* with "Relics (Agent Side Grinder Remix),"

"Relics"—originally featured on EMMON’s 2025 album *ICON*—takes on a hard-hitting new form in the hands of Swedish electronic pioneers Agent Side Grinder.

Agent Side Grinder were at the forefront of the Swedish post-punk revival during the 2010s, establishing their distinctive sound with albums such as *Hardware* and *Alkimia*. Following a lineup change in 2017, the group ventured further into electronic territory while keeping the core of their unmistakable sound intact. Their influence has since extended far beyond Sweden’s borders: younger bands like Molchat Doma have cited Agent Side Grinder as an inspiration, while electronic icons such as Front 242 have also praised the band.

The connection between EMMON and Agent Side Grinder goes beyond the remix itself. Agent Side Grinder vocalist Emanuel Åström also appears as a guest vocalist on the original version of "Relics," making the remix a natural continuation of their collaboration.

SECOND COMPLEX ft JOEL ALEXANDER

Second Complex from Denmark have released a demo of a old track that he done long back ago and I understand the feeling he mean in his pressrelease, I feel the same many times after tons of hours in the studio to get the right touch. The demo contains lyrics from Joel Alexander of Eckotrigger and if you want it to be released, well, send a little heads up to Second Complex.

Pressrelease:

This is an old song I wrote back in 2010 that has never been released, and one that I’ve revisited many, many times over the years. No matter what I do with it, I’m never quite satisfied, and as a result, all the new versions end up sounding too loud in my head, so I usually end up abandoning the project pretty quickly.

So it’s also quite possible that it will never be officially released and will remain a demo forever.

HELDAUTOMAT

Up next is the German band of Heldautomat with their new single "Anders Sein"

"Anders Sein" is OUT NOW through Town And Towers Recordlabel

Heldautomat are Christian Purwien: vocals & lyrics, and Thomas Kowa: synthesizers & songs. Two musicians with roots reaching back to the German electronic underground of the 1980s, now creating music that deliberately exists outside the pressure of algorithms, trends and instant gratification.

Pressrelease:

Heldautomat breathe new life into Second Decay classic "Anders Sein"

The German electronic duo revisit a 1994 synthpop classic with a powerful new interpretation "Anders Sein".

We have A fresh and atmospheric rework of the classic track originally released in 1994 by Second Decay on their album Taste. Some songs belong to a particular era. Others prove that their message can remain relevant for decades. "Anders Sein" is one of those songs.

Originally recorded by Second Decay, the influential German electronic duo formed by Christian Purwien and Andreas Sippel, the track now receives a new interpretation from Heldautomat, the current electronic project of Christian Purwien and Thomas Kowa. Rather than simply reproducing the original, Heldautomat have taken "Anders Sein" in a new direction, creating a richer, more expansive and atmospheric version that connects the sound of early German synthpop with the duo's distinctive contemporary electronic approach.

At the heart of the track is Christian Purwien's unmistakable voice — a voice that has been an integral part of the German electronic underground since the late 1980s. As the vocalist and lyricist of Second Decay, Purwien was part of a scene that helped shape the darker and more experimental side of German synthpop and electronic music.

Second Decay released their acclaimed album Taste in 1994, featuring "Anders Sein" alongside songs such as "I Hate Berlin" and "Hinter Glas." More than 30 years later, the song returns. But, this time with Heldautomat.

With Thomas Kowa handling synthesizers and production, Heldautomat build their sound around analogue synthesizers, piano and minimalist drum-machine rhythms. The result is electronic music that combines melancholy, atmosphere and emotional depth with the unmistakable character of classic synth-driven songwriting.

"Anders Sein" fits perfectly into that musical universe. The new version retains the essence of the original while giving it more space and a deeper emotional dimension. Dark electronic textures, spacious synth arrangements and Purwien's expressive vocals transform the track into something that feels both familiar and new. And that is exactly the point.

Heldautomat don't see "Anders Sein" as an exercise in nostalgia. They see it as a continuation. The song's central themes remain just as relevant today as they were in 1994. Perhaps even more. By revisiting the track from a contemporary perspective, Heldautomat demonstrate how a song can travel through time without losing its identity.

The release also includes a classic 12-inch mix as its virtual B-side, giving the song additional room to unfold and paying tribute to the extended electronic mixes of the past.

"Anders Sein" is another chapter in the emerging Heldautomat story.

Following their debut single "Am ersten Tag", the duo continue to establish their distinctive sound. Atmospheric, analogue, melancholic and uncompromising.

Their debut album, "Zwischen den Lichtern", is scheduled for release in autumn 2026 and will feature eleven tracks in German and English.

CK37

We continue now with more Scandinavian synthmusic, or in this case Swedish EBM from the brilliant minds of CK37. They have been very active this year with much appreciated concerts, in Anhalt (familientreffen sandersleben) and Synth I Molkom just to mention some.

"All Inclusive" is OUT NOW!!!

Pressrelease:

Swedish EBM trio CK 37 returns with the brand new single ALL INCLUSIVE

After releasing the debut album Inget Hat and spending the summer bringing CK 37's high-energy live machinery to stages in Sweden and Germany, the calculators are now heading somewhere entirely different...The all-inclusive resort.

ALL INCLUSIVE turns the standardized package holiday into an electronic celebration of sunbed warfare, bar queues, water aerobics, excessive consumption and vacation according to factory settings. Musically, it's unmistakably CK 37.

Pounding electronic body music, huge hooks, humour, sweat and enough energy to make the hotel entertainment team reconsider its career choices.
