MG x CD + JL = is the name of a newly launched electronic music project by Martin Gore (of Depeche Mode). The project released it´s debut single, "Cross Whisper," on October 20, 2026, via the record label Mute.
The letters in the mathematical formula represent the initials of the individuals involved:
• MG: Martin Gore
• CD: Artist and lyricist Cliff Damavandi
• JL: Gore’s youngest daughter, Johnnie Lee Gore, who contributes vocals
