SVART TULPAN

I am a big fan of Swedish music, or, more precisely, Swedish music with Swedish lyrics, perhaps that’s not surprising, given that I am Swedish myself. Among the artists I grew up with are Lustans Lakejer and Ratata, and in recent years, another favorite has emerged: Svart Tulpan.

Svart Tulpan is the soloproject of the Swedish guitarist Anders Ericsson, a former member of Ubangi and also a member of Lustans Lakejer.

Svart Tulpan has already released two albums, debutalbumet "Svart Tulpan" - Considering Anders went solo in 2024, he has been quite prolific, with his second album arriving just at the beginning of October.

Many albums are released around this time of the year., while I might only skim through some, albeit with a critical, journalistic ear, others demand closer attention, and the new Svart Tulpan album, *Mina Formativa År*, is one of them.

If you enjoy a pleasant, pop-infused groove, featuring polished vocals, poetic lyrics, and a blend of indie and electronic music, then you should definitely check out Svart Tulpan.

Svart Tulpan and Mauro Scocco are both among my current favorites, and interestingly enough, Svart Tulpan and Mauro Scocco (along with Ratata) share quite a bit in common. The album features a collaboration with Anders and Mauro, "Ingenting Om Mig" furthermore, Svart Tulpan has delivered a fantastic version of the song "Vild", originally released by Ratata in 1983 on their album *Äventyr*.

There are quite a few favorite tracks on the new album, in addition to those already mentioned, there are "Mina Läsarsånger," "Attention Span," and the title track, "Mina Formativa År."

This is one of the best albums to emerge so far this October, a record you can enjoy again and again during these dark, somewhat dreary times.

If you wanna buy a physical copy of the album, you can head over to Bengans or use this LINK

If you wanna see Svart Tulpan live and you are close to Stockholm, Wednesday 28. He will play at Kollektivet Livet, for more info, go HERE
