Weekend is getting closer and its time for a update from this weeks releases. 

One of last years big moments for me and the rest of Electric Cafe was when Den Harrow, Linda Jo Rizzo and Paul Rein with many more visited Helsingborg on Beatbox 2023 

Today I give you the icon Paul Rein´s new single, out today on all the digital stores.

PAUL REIN RETURNS TO THE RETRO DANCE FLOOR WITH "DIFFERENT" 

Pbhmedia proudly presents the new single from Swedish 80s icon and ASCAP/Latin Grammy awarded artist, producer and songwriter Paul Rein. Paul Rein conquered both the charts and the young girls' hearts with his long blonde hair and hits like "Lady O" and "Stop (Give It Up)" during the mid 1980s. "Lady O" was also featured in "Max Mix 4", a landmark for a Swedish artist back in the days.  These days he's considered a "Hi-Nrg Icon" in Mexico, where his 1985 single "Hold Back Your Love" is a frequent favorite at various hi-nrg parties. In 2020 he also made a comeback into the retro club scene with his cover version of Hubert KaH and Michael Cretu's "Angel 07". The song "Different" was written by Norell-Oson-Bard and originally recorded by Swedish band Secret Service in the 1980s, but not released until 2009. 

This new version, produced and performed by Paul Rein is also a part of the pbhmedia tribute to late songwriter Tim Norell. The album "Night City Tribute Vol.2 - In Memory of Tim Norell" is planned for release in a near future. * * * THE TIM NORELL TRIBUTE 

On Dec 16, 2023, Tim Norell passed away. One of Sweden's most significant hitmakers - and one of the most secret!  In 2018 pbhmedia released Night City Tribute - The Songs of Secret Service a 23 track (!) cover tribute to one of my all-time favorite bands, Secret Service. Early 80s hits Oh Susie and Flash In The Night are their most well-known songs, but the band is still active and the latest album Secret Mission was released late 2022.

Now it's time for the continuation of that tribute, this time focusing on the extensive back catalogue of Tim Norell, featuring not only songs recorded by Secret Service, but also many other Swedish artists, like Lili & Susie, Jerry Williams and Army Of Lovers.
