STATE OF ANGUISH

On our socials I have written about two of this weeks album, two amazing album. 

Another new album that came out this week, on Friday and also in very high quality is 

"The Silence Before The Storm" with the Norwegian duo of State Of Anguish. 

I must say that Norway are strong nowadays with synthpop, with so many intelligent and brilliant producers they have, excellent work boys and girls of Norway.

Town And Towers Records is excited to announce our release of Norwegian futurepop act State of Anguish's debut album. It's a great and powerful album, and with this release, we bring you a bit of the legacy of other great futurepop stars to you. So, you know this music is supposed to be played loud!

About: 

State of Anguish is a two piece act from Norway. The band consist of childhood friends Egil Thomas Hansen (composer and founding member of Supercraft, and with the solo project, ETH) and the other is drummer, electronic producer and solo electronic artist, Kim Lunner (also now from Supercraft, Kim Lunner). 

They have created a band, that lift up the legacy of other great Norwegian electronic acts like Apoptygma Berzerk (also known as APOP), and other futurepop acts like Frozen Plasma, Solitary Experiments, Chrom, Eisfabrik, VNV Nation, Mental Discipline - and of course Supercraft. 

The idea of the band was born as Kim (before joining Supercraft in 2023) asked if Thomas would do the vocals on a song. Later that year the first State of Anguish single 'Imperfect' was released. 

As Supercraft (due to different views on several matters) slowly came to an end during 2024, Kim and Thomas 're-booted' State of Anguish, and this has now resulted in the release of their debut album 'The Silence Before The Storm', on November 29th, 2024. 

For followers of Supercraft, State of Anguish, will certainly deliver recognizable Norwegian inspired Futurepop, but not without their new own personal and unique touch. As a fact, a few of the songs on the album, were originally meant to be a part of a new Supercraft album - but since that was not ment to happen, Thomas and Kim re-arranged them and took them under the State of Anguish flag instead. 

The lyrics are thoughtful and reflective, not unknown for the common Supercraft fan. And it is not that strange, as Thomas is the guy making all the lyrics for the album, as well as he did for all of the past Supercraft albums (with a few exceptions). 

As for the tech-part State of Anguish uses Mac computers running Logic X Software from vendors like f.ex Refx, U-He, Arturia and Reveal Sounds are in use. On the hardware front the band uses synths from Novation, Korg, Roland and Waldorf. 

The band is currently already writing new material (!) so the creativity runs high these days! 

The release of 'Silence Before The Storm' will see the band on tour in 2025. More info to be revealed soon, as there are still agreements and details to be settled.
