On New Years Day we gave you the Electric Cafe Yearmix 2024 on Hitcity Öresund, a week before it is time for 2025 first real Electric Cafe, we are back again ON AIR, January 8 at 9 PM.
The first post of 2025 is the ELECTRIC CAFE / MUZIK MAG SWEDEN TOP 50 so this is my favourites of 2024, keep in mind that I was gone a while so I have probably missed out tracks that you wanted on the list.
My top three of 2024 was Vintage Voltage, Emmon and Clan Of Xymox.
# 1 Vintage Voltage - "I Hate To Love You", I don´t really know why this track got my attention but there is something hypnotizing with it, the vocals, the lyrics and the dark atmospheric sounds, I hate that I love this song. Pete and Chris did the absolute best song according to me, Tobbe P, masterpiece, pure love for this track.
# 2 Emmon - "Machines (terence fixmer remix)" a synthdjs dreamsong to work with in a mix, on a radioshow or party, the original is awesome and the remix from Terence Fixmer did not disappoint, one of my highlights of 2024.
# 3 Clan Of Xymox - "Blood Of Christ (rue oberkampf remix)" The originaltrack is also one of the best in 2024 with that special melody that just got stucked in my head, the remix from Rue Oberkampf put this song on a piedestal for me, starting up a bit slow and after the drop it just gets.....damn, such a remix.
# 4 Cold Connection - "Voices Of The Night" one of this Autumn´s anthems, the duo from my hometown did a great track, melancholic and so much synth over it with all the playfulness in sounds, just what I want in a synthsong. I´m looking forward to hear the new material from them that coming out in 2025.
# 5 Lustans Lakejer "Dekadens (radio version)" LL is absolute one of last years favourites among the swedes. "Dekadens" is the perfect follower up to the album "Mörk Materia" that came out 2022 and the deluxe edition from 2023.
# 6 Uncreated - "We Will Attack" is one of our Worldpremieres from last year, when the track dropped in our mail, I was hooked, absolutely one of the best track that really makes a dj like me so happy, great remix by legendary Funker Vogt, new material on it´s way from Patrik that usually are one of the members in Vanguard that toghether with the singer Christoffer Orcander are Uncreated.
# 7 AD:KeY - "Nackt" are taken from the album 06/09 and one of many excellent track, I had a goal and that was to only have one artist on this top 50, otherwise I would have more songs from AD:keY. "Nackt" is more at EBM so with that the highest on this chart that goes in EBM.
# 8 PAGE - "Alla Ljuden I Ditt Rum" is one of my favourite tracks from the album "Fakta För Alla" that came out in October, Page is another popular act in Sweden and together with Lustans Lakejer all of their concerts was sold out.
# 9 Destroy Me Again - "Dopamine" was another track that I immediately got hooked of and chills, taken from one of 2024 best albums in "Cold By Design", the EP contain remixes from Funke Vogt and Tyske Ludder just to mention some, great EP and a fantastic album.
# 10 Chrom - "Agony" is one the newest tracks I have on the top, reason is that I just love it, there is something haunting with this track that makes me chill but in the same time powerful. One of the best released from Out Of Line in 2024.
# 11 Orange Sector - "Wo Bist Du (clubmix)" EBM when it is BEST, from the album "Feuer Flamme" another track for a synthdj like me, we love it in the mix, we love it out on the clubs, everytime I hear it, I just can´t sit still.
# 12 deZeption - "A New World Is Rising" is the highest track from our neighbours, Denmark on the chart, great synthpop and a song that was and is popular on different charts like Klangwald and GEWC.
# 13 Final Selection - "You", Final Selection only dropped one track in 2024 but what a track, the classic Boytronic song "You" in a new updated dress, since that song is another of my personal favourites.
# 14 State Of Anguish - "Point Of No Return" from the duo State Of Anguish is one of the best tracks that is taken from their fantastic album "The Silence Before The Storm" that together with Piston Damp´s album put Norway on the top.
# 15 A Flock Of Seagulls - "Some Dreams" is really not a song that I liked from the beginning, but it grew more and more when I really gave myself the moment to listen, taken from the album "Some Dreams"
# 16 Piston Damp - "To My Knees (extended)" is one track that many looked forward to, one of many fantastic tracks taken from the album "Mastermind Vol. 1: No Points For Trying"
# 17 Blutengel - "Angst" Blutengel has a new album coming out here early this year and this is one of the latest and newest songs to hit the charts. "Angst" have it all in my opinion, Chris Pohl of Blutengel nailed it here.
# 18 SIIE - "Grand Virage (emmon remix)" is one of the big surprises for me, great production and a remix that Emmon did that really get me going, the original is also very good, a album is in progress from SIIE and I think we gonna have one of 2025 best albums there.
# 19 Rue Oberkampf - "I Won´t Surrender" is taken from the mini album "Essenz" that also have another of my favourite tracks in "Allein". The Robert Miles feeling over this song is so clear and crispy, a dj´s anthemsong.
# 20 Video L´Eclipse - "Go Blind" is one of the tracks released from one of the most underrated albums 2024, in "Begin - Repress - Depart" among regular Svenssons but for us critics and bloggers we have a masterpiece, there are so many good track on that album.
# 21 Vision Moderne - "Love Will Save Us" the titletrack of the Swedish synthmovie, "Dusseldorf, Skåne" and also a track that we was first to play as one of our many Worldpremieres in 2024.
# 22 Alex Braun - "Der Gedankensammler (rob dust club remix)" from the former frontman of !Distain got us all fell in love with "Der Gedankensammler" and when one of the most effective remixers in Rob Dust lay his hands on it, it popped.
# 23 Les Berrtas - "Wald-Farbe (pyrroline remix)" is the follower up to their GEWC favourite "Geistertanz" that still was on the GEWC chart in the end of 2024, different but still so good, dark and haunting at the same time, great EP.
# 24 Aiboforcen ft Jan Of Norderney and Noemi Aurora - "Cycle Of Life" is one of the best in the dark and future pop in 2024, beside this clubmix we have more great remixes and features, like Mari Kattman for an example, the EP "Cycle Of Life" is a must have. Aiboforcen is also one of Niklas favourites in 2024.
# 25 Engraved Garden - "The Telephone Operator" was the first own song in 2024 from the Helsingborgs duo, and what a track, for the synthpop lovers, with a lot of emotions, sounds and character. Niklas in Engraved Garden is also one of the radiohosts of Electric Cafe so you understand, this is quality.

# 27 G.H.T. - "We Seek Disorder"
# 28 Future Lied To Us - "Code (solar fake remix)"
# 29 Torul - "Just Go"
# 30 Beborn Beton - "American Girls"
