For me, Sunday is the big blogging day, when I curate what will be featured on the site. Sundays are also when I’m supposed to host *Electric Cafe*, but I’ve been having some technical issues. which led to last week’s radio show being cancelled. I’m going to try to get a show up and running tonight at 6 PM.
Now we will take a peak on the Dutch duo of Machine Command and their new single "Uncontrolable"
Machine Command is a Dutch music duo from Rotterdam that plays EBM (Electronic Body Music) and industrial electronic music. The group was originally founded in 2013 under the name Halcyon Days. They later changed their name to Machine Command because there was a hard rock band with the same name.
The band currently consists of two members:
• Pieter Winkelaar (also known as KRAT): Responsible for electronics, synthesizers, and production. Winkelaar is a well-known DJ within the Dutch darkwave and EBM scene and is also the force behind the project The Peoples Republic Of Europe.
• Annemarie Janssen (JAANSEN): A vocalist who joined the band in 2024. Her arrival brought a more melodic, "futurepop" quality to the group, layered over their otherwise hard-hitting basslines.
Their musical style is heavily inspired by classic "old school" and Anhalt EBM (in the same vein as Nitzer Ebb), but blended with modern, club-friendly beats, heavy basslines, and dark, often dystopian lyrics.
Pressrelease:
The new single from the upcoming as of yet untitled new album due for spring 2027.
It's about conceited self-assured and self learning beings who threaten to wipe out humanity.
B-Side is a remix made from the album track "Predators" from the upcoming album. Since that track is 165 BPM The Peoples Republic of Europe transformed the fast paced EBM to Drum & bass!
