THE DARK WAVE

If you have eight minutes to spare and love well-produced post-punk, darkwave, and coldwave, I think you should sit back, close your eyes—in other words, shut your eyes—and just listen and enjoy.

"Alone", the new single from the Amsterdam-based post-punk band The Dark Wave, and it´s out NOW!!! 

The 8-minute track begins introspectively and builds towards an explosive-sounding gothic rock finale. 

The track, written by bassist Pepijn Grimmelikhuizen incollaboration with singer Jelmer Luimstra, is about isolation and alienation. Alone was produced by Thijs de Melker, co-founder of the Dutch punk band Raggende Manne. 

Earlier this year, The Dark Wave released their debut EP, Trapped Behind Glass Walls, via the record shops Concerto and Plato in the Netherlands. The EP features, amongst other tracks, the single Emptiness, in which the band denounces the addictive nature of social media. Emptiness reached number 2 in the Indie Chart of the Dutch pop station IndieXL. 

The Dark Wave perform regularly in the Netherlands and Belgium. The band are signed to the Amsterdam-based record label Walboomers Music.
