With “Suizid” (Suicide), NACHTSCHLEIFE release one of the most personal and important songs from their upcoming album “Systemabfall.” This intense Dark Wave / Dark Electro track deals with mental health crises, despair and loneliness – and with a subject that is still too often left unspoken. Different personal struggles can lead a person to a point where they can no longer see a way out. “Suizid” does not try to offer simple answers but instead makes visible that moment of deepest despair.
The message from NACHTSCHLEIFE is clear: Don’t look away. Listen. Check in with people. Take people seriously. Get help. The song is aimed equally at those affected and at the people around them. Sometimes a conversation, a message or simply deciding not to leave someone alone can be an important first step. Releasing the song in autumn is also a conscious choice, as loneliness, grief and mental health struggles can become particularly difficult during this time of year.
Musically, NACHTSCHLEIFE combine Dark Wave, Dark Electro and Industrial into an intense soundscape of dense electronic textures, harsh and vulnerable moments, and an expressive vocal performance. As part of “Systemabfall”, “Suizid” also reflects the album’s broader theme: a society in which people are expected to keep functioning, even when they have reached their limits mentally. The song does not seek to romanticize the darkness, but to make it visible – and to remind us that help is available.
