Analog 80 is a music project and artist name run by a French composer and producer who lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
The project has been active since 2011 and blends dark EBM, new beat, electro wave, industrial rhythms, acid music, and retro-futuristic sci-fi atmospheres.
The musician has built his own studio in Brussels, which is entirely dedicated to analog and vintage synthesizers, SID chip sounds (from old home computers), and classic film samples.
The legacy of electronic pioneers such as Kraftwerk and Jean-Michel Jarre is combined with the Belgian electronic music tradition and science fiction from the 1950s to the 1980s.
Analog 80 released the new single "Mbl" on 23rd October and it´s definitely a song for October and Halloween.
Pressrelease:
"Мы" means “we” in Russian, and this track is inspired by the famous "non-utopian" science fiction novel by Evgueni Ivanovitch ZAMIATINE. It depicts a future where everyone is assigned a number, and where all laws are dictated by numbers. Society is mathematical and happiness is analytical. D-503 is an engineer working on the construction of the Integral, a spaceship intended to explore other worlds and spread the ideas of the One State. One day, he meets I-330, a rebellious, enigmatic and very attractive woman, and develops feelings (love and jealousy) before discovering he has a "soul", a concept deemed pathological by the regime...
